"The Center School has helped our son build skills to succeed not just academically, but in every facet of his life. He has developed strong friendships, life skills, and confidence that have made his life richer and opened up so many opportunities for him.
When we toured The Center School, we saw our child relax and smile for the first time in a long time. "From the moment we entered The Center School in the Summer of 2016, I knew it was the perfect place for my son’s out-of-district educational journey. After meeting Maryellen Grabowski and Dwayne Lumbsden, I was immediately impressed by their warm, welcoming demeanor. Mrs. Grabowski guided us on a school tour led by an amazing TSC student, while Mr. Lumbsden provided a friendly, professional counseling session that left a strong impression. We then met with the OT staff, who made us feel completely comfortable. The last step was the district approval, and soon after, everything was set in motion. Throughout sixth grade and into his first year in The Center School’s Transitional Program, my dear son D. H. made remarkable progress."
"Although not every day was rosy, he defied expectations with an above-average GPA and earned multiple awards. He joined the basketball team, became a peer mentor, took leading roles in school performances to thunderous applause, served as a teacher’s assistant for the music teacher, captained the e-sports club, was elected president and vice president of the student council, landed his first paying job at TCS’s Bistro, was invited to speak at his high school graduation, and graduated from TSC on time with a scholarship. He was clearly being prepared for a successful future as a productive citizen, embarking on a lucrative career path. I am also proud to say he’s been employed for nearly three years since graduation, earned his associate’s degree in Criminal Justice in May 2026, and is now continuing his education in Criminal Justice in Law at Kean University at the start of Fall 2026. 1 I truly believe and often say, “The Center School has played a key role in our son’s success and is at the center of helping him reach every goal.” TCS has brought such a positive change to our lives, offering everything caring parents and dedicated students could wish for.
