An Open Letter to Prospective Parents:

Like most parents, when we were told that our son would have to be placed in a "behavioral" school we were upset. Our search for a school found us roaming all over the northern and central half of New Jersey, and frankly we were shocked at many of the facilities. That is until we entered Center School and were given a tour by a very personable young man who happened to be a student. We were so impressed that we immediately informed our district that we wanted our son to attend Center School.

At first our son had a difficult time adjusting to the program. But, after some patience, love, understanding and amazing assistance, our son succeeded at Center School.

Our son attended Center School for five years. In those five years we saw him transform from an unruly, angry and out of control boy, to a confident, amiable and goal oriented young man. He eventually came to love the school, and often gave those same tours to prospective parents. I credit Center School with much of his success, and my wife and I are eternally grateful to everyone at Center School for his transformation.

We now sit at a new threshold. Our son is re-entering the school system in our town. This past year he has proven to everyone that he has the necessary tools to attend our town's middle school. We took this step with great trepidation. Our fear is not founded on the concern that our son will fail at the district school, it is founded on the knowledge that Center School provided a level of education that may or may not be present in our district. We eventually came to realize bringing him back was the right decision as he is ready to re-enter a mainstream classroom.

You should rest assured that Center School is the best place for your son or daughter. It may not be an easy road, but you and your child may some day find yourself writing a letter such as this thanking the staff for their amazing little school.

Best Regards,

Fredy Reyes
